Simple Things
It's the simple things in life, like a warm smile and a slow soft touch,
Even a slight brush up against, those are what truly mean so much.
All the glitter nor the glamour will be ever be there to take my side,
When life throws those punches, gets rough, or takes me for a ride.
Just the mood that he will set, with his gentle and meaningful embrace,
As his tender touch explores my body, with his fingers as they trace.
And the smile that he shares with me, as he gestures at me eagerly to lay,
Our naked bodies anxiously touching, yearning, as we snuggle up to play.
All that’s needed is to fill my heart with kindness, no need to shower it with gifts,
His sweet smiles and all his laughter is what's needed to give my life a lift.
The late night talks, the scary movies, even light pats on top the head,
Those playful little giggles, the little tickles, while we are lying on the bed.
The diamonds, the pearls, and all the gold items will eventually fade away,
The materialistic things get boring and old and it’s the simple things that stay.
Like the hugs and all those kisses, the winks and silly grins that fill life's plate,
Yes, it’s the simple things that hold onto you, they will never go out of date.
I do know that I can be dreaming, and that those things are surely hard to find,
I truly know he's out there, someone real and not made up in my mind.
As I reach reach out to gently touch him, I can feel him, yes, he’s really there,
Able to share with him the simple things, is happiness you can’t compare.
